The last of the Grapes

We had 2 huge grape harvests (for us) this year. This is the last of it. Yummy, red seedless grapes. We figure after the husband retires he will have more time to tend to it for bigger yields.  He took this basket of grapes to work to share - I've had my fill.

We didn't have a garden this year - we were too busy working on a retaining wall plus before my knee surgery, I wasn't in any physical shape to use my knee.

Speaking of my knee, I am to the point, where I get out of bed in the morning and I no longer think of it. It used to be the first thing I felt. The knee is fine - I have even knelt on it; don't like it but I can do it. When I am cleaning and such, I try and grab a pillow.  Toward the evening, my muscles above the knee where the tourniquet was, still hurts. That will take some time to heal, I guess. All in all, I am HAPPY with my knee and my healing. It's only been 3 months!

Wednesday, Sara and I are driving down to IKEA in West Sacramento. We're bringing a cooler to buy some of the food.

I asked my husband if he would like me to plan a little retirement get-together in December.

I can tell, the seasons; summer and fall are starting to battle it out, with summer still winning. Yesterday started out pleasant and then by the afternoon it was back into the mid-'90s. At least it's not in the 100s!

  1. Hi Debby :) Oh I"m envious! If I had access to fresh grapes, I think wine making would be on my list. Your knee surgery sounds like it was painful, I'm happy to hear you can function well now! Must have been a tough three months! I think that fall has hit here in the mountains of Quebec. Sigh...summer was way too short!

    1. There is a place in town where you bring your grapes and they process it for wine. You create your own label and such. We don't have enough yet. Until then it will be grape jam and I will be making 2-3 grapevine wreaths.

  2. I am so happy your knee is healing so quickly--to have that kind of healing in only 3 months is a major blessing.
Hope you do have a little retirement party--that would be nice!
Have a great Sunday night- xo Diana

  3. It never got out of the low 60's here yesterday. I think fall is speeding here though they say we could hit 80 again this week.

  4. When was your surgery? My doctor recommend a pillow for kneeling. Mine was two years ago and I am so happy I had it done. Have fun at IKEA. It is always fun to walk around.

  5. Those grapes look so good. I haven't had grapes at all this Summer. They are so expensive at the stores. That's awesome that you have a grape harvest. The red grapes are so tasty, and seedless, even better. I'm glad to hear you're healing nicely with your knee and can do a lot of things now. I guess it just takes time.

Try to stay cool - this heat has to get better for us soon.

Comments are good - I admit, sometimes I don't respond back, in time for a dialog. I bad! I will TRY and do better. Thanks for understanding.
