Feeling my age
Since the surgery, I am so sleepy. I wake up at the first morning light, around 5:30 am. After lunch, I take a luxurious 2-hour nap. I'm starting to look at the clock at 8pm to go to bed but it's still light out, so we usually go to bed around 9:30. I'm told since I am healing, my body needs the sleep. I also sleep soundly at night.
Today I had BIG PLANS. I wanted to go to the craft store to purchase something I could do - some lite grocery shopping and maybe go over to the garden center. I only made it to Trader Joes and to Winco and I was hurting and tired. Dang, it's so frustrating.
So I am home - husband is out finishing up on errands.
We did go out to dinner with the step-daughter on Friday. She is not a very good conversationist. She is intellectually disabled and she pretty much stays within a certain predictable dialogue. After that, NOTHING. We have to carry the conversation. She did say she found another bedbug - they came out and sprayed. She is back at her thrift store job. She said she has learned her lesson yet, her place is back to being cluttered and a pig sty. We just don't know how to reach her. Sometimes we think that maybe she should be in a group home.
All of that tires my 65-year-old brain. I'd rather take a nap.
Also, I have no appetite. I do eat - my 3 squares, but nothing tastes good. It's like my taste buds are out of whack. Things I used to enjoy, just taste blah to me now.
We're having a NY steak tonight so maybe I need BEEF! They did say I need to eat a lot of protein.
