My Blog; My Opinion - The City of David

You don't have to agree or even like what I have said. Just pass this post on by -   I have also turned off the comment section because I can. I don't want to have to deal with the comments if there are any.  I'm only trying to explain this in a simple way,  the best that I can.

Shabbat Shalom. I thought this would be a good topic for this morning.  I have been reading many comments on Facebook and blogs, about Trump and the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Such as,

"I thought it already was."

Yes and No.

It's always been a political HOT MESS.  The United Nations,  the Democrats in Congress, and Hamas' may wish that all of Israel's government buildings, including The Knesset, Supreme Court, and Bank of Israel, were located in Tel Aviv - but they aren't. They're all in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.  With the exception of their defense ministry - that is headquartered in Tel Aviv.  What gives any political amenity or country a right to deny a sovereign nation it's right to choose its capital? They've been doing it for years!

Trump officially acknowledged that the United States would be the first country to
recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and because the US recognizes their capital, would be moving the US Embassy there. No other country has the balls has their embassy there. and it is hoped that many other countries will follow. (Probably not) I think it was a ballsy move for him.  He enjoys controversies and making people squirm. I don't know his true motives or his heart - only God knows that. Nevertheless, a ballsy move that past presidents or other western countries wouldn't make.

It's no secret that I am not a Trump fan.  I choose not to hate the man or join the Hate bandwagon.  I try not to "HATE" these days - believe me, it's a battle and just shows me how powerful HATE can be. That constant negative outlook and mindset do not look good on me.
“I have decided to stick to love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” ― Martin Luther King Jr

Yes, it is controversial. - Seems most of the world still, secretly despise the Jewish people and hates Israel;  begrudging their existence. Or they are COWARDS and just keep quiet.  Hmmmm, We still haven't learned from our past. It's sad and scary.

Yes, there will be violence.  Sad but a fact. Israelis are prepared and always ready. They have lived this way since 1946. I have read where the Palestinians are "ready to sacrifice" for Jerusalem calling for 3 days of Rage as well as calling for a general strike throughout the territories.

Historically, all roads led to Rome. Now they lead to Jerusalem.
