Cash, Gifts and the Schwans delivery guy.

Yesterday I went out to buy a few little gifts; some boxed candy etc -  just to have on hand in case of what?  I don't really know. My mom always did it so I do it, too.  Like if someone drops by, a neighbor or the Schwan's delivery guy. It's fun to surprise someone with a little something they are not expecting.

It was crowded at the store; many things picked over. I'm waiting for another delivery and I still have one more gift to get. I am the official GIFT GIVER in the family. I pay attention and I make many Christmas-gift-purchases before the holidays get here. The challenge of that is, sometimes I can't remember where I hid them. One year, I totally misplaced a few and had to forget about them, only to find them a few months later! Silly me. I've done that with cash, too. I tend to tuck a $20 here and there - and the good thing is, I always find the cash when I really need it.

Everyone says I am hard to buy for. I don't think so. When asked, I can never really say what I want -all in all, I am content. If I didn't get a thing, I would be fine. I love to buy for others; to find that really special gift...

It really is a fun time of year!

  1. I used to be a secret bill hider too. When I needed money I always knew the usual places.

  2. I'm with you, I rather give than receive. We just have a few more things to get, not that I was buying a lot, but should have everything "wrapped" up this weekend. When we lived in Montana, I used to order a lot from the Schwans guy. Got out of the habit, but did like the things we got from them (though some were a bit pricey).

  3. Both my sister and I have found gifts months later that we bought and totally forgot about. Such a surprise when we do, lol.

  4. I am the same way, too, Debby. I am a much better 'giver' than a
I do the same thing- I pick up a few boxes of candy to have as mini-gifts for those unexpected people that pop into my life. I have done that for years.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana

  5. It's hard to buy for people who really don't crave a lot of material things. I am packing up clothes to give to charity when I get busy this morning. It is just clutter at this point. I am downsizing as much as I can the next 5 years. I'm afraid I will get too old to handle it later.

  6. I'm still hoping I'll find my secret stash of cash. Wishful thinking probably, but lately while doing some cleaning and organizing I've been finding all sorts of nifty surprises. You are to be commended for your gift considerations. I haven't bought anything this year, but expensive travels ahead will likely forego my doing so. Family will be getting me for Christmas.

    Tossing It Out

Comments are good - I admit, sometimes I don't respond back, in time for a dialog. I bad! I will TRY and do better. Thanks for understanding.
