My blog = My opinion

Yesterday was International Women's Day.

Did I "celebrate" it?

No.

Why?

I'm naturally rebellious -  I always go against the flow. I don't mind that others took off work to do it. Just don't judge me, because I didn't and wouldn't.

Did I go shopping?

Yes, I did. I don't like anyone, or group, telling me what to do. I am FREE. I am an Independent Thinking Woman!

Did I shop deliberately because it was International Women's Day?

Yes.  I was suspicious that perhaps that suggestion was from a man (husband)  haha

Did I wear RED?

No. I wore GREEN.

The earliest organized Women's Day observance was held on February 28, 1909, in New York,  by the Socialist Party of America in remembrance of the 1908 strike of the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union.

My maternal Grandmother used to be in the Garment Workers Union in Dayton, Ohio. She was a single mom. She was a seamstress, working various projects in the making of military uniforms. She used to sew a penny in the pocket when she could.

Anyway, it seems women these days really HATE men.  I like men. I actually get along better with men, than women. At parties, I tend to hang out with the guys. I like how they think. I was a daddy's girl - maybe that is why?  I favored my male cousins...I also had 3 sons. It's just the way I am. Back when I used to work, I preferred male bosses. I found the women managers, were catty and competitive. I'm sad that men are not the way they were when my dad was alive. Back then, men were men.

I guess, the Feminist's would probably believe, that I am a trader to my own gender - So be it.

  1. A seasoned and wise woman once said, "Strive for equality with men? But we've been superior for so long!"

Hahah...I don't know who said that, but I have heard it in many variations.

I didn't even know it was a protest day yesterday.

  2. And most men like women. The world is turning upside down, and I'm with you, I don't like it when people or groups tell me what to think, especially when they get pushy or bullying about it. BTW, I am 100% in favor of women having equal rights, I don't remember the law that repealed those rights, but I would have voted against it's repeal.

    1. It's amazing in our lifetime, the archaic laws, that were against women.

  3. I worked yesterday, too. And I wore blue. Then I went to visit my 2-month old grandson! That was my celebration of International Women's Day!

  5. I didn't even know the day existed until the end of the day when I was catching things on social media about it. I was too busy working and doing what I needed to do to march, wear red, etc :)

  6. I knew that it was International Woman's Day but I didn't celebrate. I agree with some of your thoughts about women but unfortunately we are not created equal as so many would wish to think we are. There are still so many places where women are inferior to men. I don't think it has anything to do with liking or not liking men! I'm just tired. Of it all!!

Comments are good - I admit, sometimes I don't respond back, in time for a dialog. I bad! I will TRY and do better. Thanks for understanding.
